Help for Sarah from Gaza who desperately needs surgery
Canada
I’m helping a wonderful, kind 18 year old girl from Gaza who was hit by a sniper bullet while she and her family were displaced to a tent in Al-Zawaida, Gaza.
The bullet fractured her skull and lodged in her eye and she couldn’t get surgery in Gaza due to lack of resources at the hospitals. After a long struggle, she was able to leave for Egypt with her mother to receive the surgery to remove the bullet, however she still requires two more operations.
Her father and 4 siblings remain in Gaza, living in a tent without a sufficient supply of food, water, clothing or money. (See photo of where they are currently living).
Their funds have run out so she’s unable to get the remaining surgeries which, combined, along with living expenses for her mother to remain with her, we estimate will cost roughly $30,000 US. I’m trying to raise the funds for at least one of the surgeries.
Before October 7th Sarah went to high school, loved to draw and had a shop with her sister in her spare time, making and selling beads. She had aspired to go to university when she graduated. Her 21 year old sister Shahira worked in graphic design and her father in the exchange office. She and her siblings went to the best high schools and her universities. In her sister’s words ‘before the war we lived a very beautiful life, surrounded by the warmth of a nice home and family’. This is evident from the photo of Sarah, her mom and three of her four siblings.
Can you help Sarah pay for her surgery?
